A Sudden Decrease in Tropopause Height With a Sudden Increase in Total Column Ozone

Tropopause height is inversely proportional to total ozone column. The tropopause height measured by the McGill radar decreased 5 kilometers within 5 hours as total column ozone measured in Montreal increased 20%. Total ozone observed by the Brewer instrument in Montreal from direct sun (DS) and zenith sky (ZS) measurements (Fioletov, 2008).
